Trunk or Treat?

We had it all planned! We were going to attend Trunk or Treat at our church (20 minutes away) Sunday night. Then after a busy weekend and a 3 hour birthday party for a friend Sunday afternoon -we were beat. So we decided to skip it. Then our friends (same ones who had the party) called to invite us to Trunk or Treat at their church -which just happens to be held at Steven's school 3 blocks away! So they game over and we went!!

The boys had a great time! There were lots of games and fun things to do.

Here are Jackson and Justin (whose party it was -great fun, by the way!) goofing around as they usually do.

Steven and Josh (Justin's older brother) are back to being the same height... Steven had fallen behind for a bit (they were the same at the end of 2006, but by the end of the school year Josh was ahead by about 1.5 inches) but has caught up for the most part. These two are really best buds, it does my heart good.

Winter Ball

Steven is playing Majors in Winter Ball. He is on the Diamondbacks and having a good time. They play every Friday night at 5:30 p.m. and we have been quite lucky that it hasn't been freezing cold yet. Here a few pictures I snapped at the game last week of him batting. Even on sports mode with continous flash, my camera is too slow to get the whole at bat. But here's what we have. I love watching him Play Ball!

More softball pictures...

Jack took this one of my parents and I watching the game....What a beautiful day to be at a game!
We didn't see much of these two as they were off at the playground, playing football, running up & down the hills.. but they did come back for some cool refreshment.. love this picture!

Watching Ciera....

On a sunny October afternoon, Jackson and I headed out to Lincoln, Ca to watch Ciera play softball. What a sight. She is poised and serious as she plays. We saw the second game that day and her team won both. I started out taking pictures, then realized I was missing her at bat.. because when she dropped the bat and ran, I thought she hit the ball -but she was walked and took off at a hustle ... so great! So I took some pitching pictures and called it a day with the camera -but I am quite pleased with some of the shots I did get.

Batting, she is ready and waiting for her pitch...
She got walked, but look at her go!
Ciera is one great pitcher! Here she is ready to go. I love watching her, she has great form.

Photo's by Jackson

For his birthday, Jack asked for a digital camera. He was turning 8 and that seemed a bit excessive, but he was adamant that was all he wanted. The kid takes pictures almost every day! five months later he is still going strong. He is really into self portraits (as shown by the one here) and also pictures of us. I love the one he took of Steven & I --we were looking at something together on the computer and he said "smile" and snapped it. Priceless, really --since I don't take pictures of me very often.

Date Night

Tonight I had a date night. With Jackson. We went to Buca de Beppo. Great food! We shared garlic cheese bread and a side salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing --he loved both! Then he had spaghetti and meatball (1/2 lb meatball came on his plate!) and I had chicken parm w/ spaghetti marinara on the side. Then we got a plate of the yummiest fettuccine Alfredo EVER! We just talked about the upcoming holidays and what to make/give people. We planned some outings. We talked about school and friends. We discussed camera angles and how to take certain pictures. It was a great evening! Just the 2 of us.

Steven went with his dad to San Jose (about 2 hours from here) to see the Sharks play the Boston Bruins. They are still out.. the game is currently at the end of the first period and the Bruins are ahead 1-0. So hopefully they will come home happy. I can only hope they have as great a time as Jack & I did.

So now, I am doing laundry, watching this past weeks General Hospitals and checking email/computer stuff and tasks during commercials. This commercial break was blogging, last one before that was washing pots & pans, next one is clearing the kitchen table. I get to feel like I am resting, yet accomplishing something at the same time... it is working for me, so off I go as the commercial is ending...
